GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BLACKLOCK CARPETS LTD
*All transactions made with Blacklock Carpets Ltd (the company) are subjected to the terms below.
PRICE: Prices are subjected to change from original quotation due to increases from wholesalers and manufactures. Our overall Total on the invoice supplied is including VAT @ 20%.
PAYMENTS: Final payments must be on completion of work, on the date of your fitting unless arranged prior to the date with the store. Interest will be charged to any late payments if not arranged prior with the store. When ordering your materials/floorings from Blacklock Carpets a 50% deposit will be taken.
INSPECTION OF ORDERS: On arrival of your new flooring please ensure you check your flooring is correct with your flooring fitter ie: Colour and the material is what you have purchased.
INSPECTIONS OF WORK: It is a requirement of the company that the customer or an adequate representative be present on during/completion of work, failing this the company and it’s representatives have the right to complete the work as they see fit and will not be able to be altered after completion. Report any complaints or concerns on any of our materials within 30 days. If any bumps occur in your floorings please notify the shop after two weeks of your fitting date due to the flooring having time to settle in your home.
If a line occurs in the new fitted carpet this known as a pole mark, it is just where the carpet has been wrapped up tightly and should disappear with use in time. Stretch and Trims must be reported within a year of the work carried out.
DUE CARE: Fitters undertake to carry out their work with reasonable skill and care, but on rare occasions home decor may be marked or scuffed during the fitting process. New paintwork and wallpaper are especially vulnerable and should be allowed to dry fully. A minimum of 72 hours is recommended and when high gloss paint has been used please allow 7 days. Neither we nor any fitters undertake to carry out any redecoration. It is the responsibility of the customer to make the estimator/fitter aware of any known hazards or issues which may affect their ability to complete the installation. Rooms with any kind of furniture in while installation is completed increases opportunity for damage to occur and carpets to not be fully stretched.
CANCELLATIONS: We do regret cancellations on orders of material cannot be refunded and deposit will be retained due to materials being cut or despatched from our wholesalers/manufacturers.
FITTING CANCELLATIONS: Due to the volume of work carried by Blacklock Carpets fitting slots must be reported for cancellations at least up to 48 hours before scheduled date of installation. If after the time required a fitting charge will apply. If multiple fitting slots are cancelled then a standard fitting charge will apply to each area on your fitting date moving forwards.
COLOUR VARIENCE: Manufacturers are allowed a tolerance on colour dying, most of them are stated on the back of the manufacturers sampling. All carpets are dyed with modern techniques and despite high control standards some variation from a dye batch to another dye batch is unavoidable. As a result the sampling provided by Blacklock Carpets may vary from the carpet you have fitted. Any usage of multiple widths/dye batches are used entirely at customers own risk.
UV DAMAGE: We strongly recommend UV protection for all types of flooring supplied, no guarantees are given against sun damage irrespective of length of time since fitting. E.g. Use vertical blinds.
SHADING: All pile carpets, especially those with plain backgrounds, are liable to shade: Light and dark patches arising from uneven surface pressure. This tendency is not detrimental to the wear of the material and is not due to any manufacturing fault. Light and delicately shaded carpets are liable to become solid in wear and apparently lose colour. Even the greatest care on the part of the manufacturer or wholesaler cannot prevent these tendencies and Blacklock Carpets cannot therefore accept responsibility for complaints arising from either of these causes.
FLOOR COVERINGS: Old and new floorings covering will be left onsite unless arranged prior to the fitting date with a member of our team.
RUGS AND REMNANTS AND REDUCED ITEMS: We do not return any rugs or remnants or any reduced items purchased in store.
COMPLAINT PROCEDURE: If you have a complaint enquiry, a photo is required for us to view, which can either be emailed to blacklockcarpets@hotmail.co.uk (or alternatively) a photo can be brought into store. If you have requested a visit by us for a complaint enquiry, a charge will be taken, if the complaint turns out to be by localised causes this will be taken for our time, if not this will be refunded once complaint concluded. Unfortunately there are no exemptions to this procedure. The complaint procedure can take up to 12 weeks from informing us of your issue due to the correspondence required between ourselves and the manufacturer.
LUXURY VINYL TILE COMPLAINT ENQUIRIES: It is extremely rare after 1+ years for tiles to lift of their own accord. As a result we will send a fitter out to check the tile, however if it is deemed by our fitter to be caused by a local issue there will be a call out charge applied. We would require this to be paid on a credit/debit card prior and will be reimbursed should the issue not to be down to local causes, of which the final decision would be made by Blacklock Carpets.
